summer mini book – the twinery & bella blvd

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you’ve made it through your week mostly unscathed!  And if you’re visiting for the product showcase with The Twinery and Bella Blvd, I hope you’ve gotten some great inspiration from all the designers this week.  This is has been one of my favorite showcases/blog hops and I love what everyone has done so far.

The end of the school year is upon us and we’re all thrilled.  It’ll be great not to have to rush trying to pull myself together in the morning enough that the other school moms don’t think I’m completely lazy.  It’ll be wonderful not to have to rush all three kids out of the house every morning or to battle with my middle child over whether or not she can wear her Rapunzel costume to school.  Who doesn’t love the reprieve of summer vacation?  The kids have been writing their “summer bucket lists” ever since the snow first started to melt and we all cannot wait.

All these plans mean I need to document all of it.  I am not a scrapbooker….  you’d think with all of the creative ventures I dabble in that scrapbooking would be one of them, but for whatever reason it’s not.  I think it’s the idea of having to fill a whole book.  And all the embellishments and papers and tools?  It’s daunting.  But when my package of Bella Blvd arrived in the mail, I knew a mini-book would be a perfect way of capturing our summer.

Nearly every single element of this mini album was made with products from The Twinery and Bella Blvd.  Even that button closure.  In fact, the only elements that aren’t from either of these two awesome companies is the doily and the embroidery floss. Seriously.  The pages are attached with a piece of baker’s twine down the fold of each page and are tied to the outer spine of the book.  I love the way all the colorful ends look.  The twine adds just the right amount of something special.  The adorable book is just waiting for photos of our summer adventures on its gorgeous pages to make it complete.  I just love it and I cannot wait to fill it up.

Some of the pages and details….

I try not to sound to “salesmany” when I do my posts, but I really loved this collection and how easy it was to pair everything up with colors from The Twinery.  I may even have to try a full scrapbook one of these days.  :)  (And I’m definitely going to make the box of gift tags like Shannan did.  Seriously how great and practical are they?)

Of course there are prizes involved!  Leave a comment here and on each of the blogs featured in this showcase (complete list over at The Twinery) for a chance to win an Original Sampler pack from The Twinery.  Deadline to visit and leave comments to win is 11:59 EDT, Sun May 20th.  Winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 22nd.

I love reading all the great comments from everyone, and it’s especially awesome when the comments roll in from folks who genuinely like my work.  You guys are the best.

♥, Ashley
